Faculty Review Network
All applications for limited funding opportunities are reviewed by the BSD's Faculty Review Network (FRN). The FRN is chaired by Elizabeth McNally, MD, PhD, who identifies reviewers for each limited funding opportunity that have expertise in a particular research area, or who have familiarity with the organization's interest and focus. In some cases, the University's Deputy Provost for Research conducts a University-wide review to select a candidate after the BSD has nominated our candidate. Most of these foundations focus their grant programs on untenured faculty where initial funding will help launch promising and innovative research. The goal of the review network is to match our faculty with the most appropriate funding opportunity. For more information on upcoming funding opportunities, please check the Non-Federal Limited Funding Opportunities page regularly.
